Foster Program

By offering your time, love and attention, you prepare your foster cat for adoption into a permanent, loving home.

Foster parents provide short-term care for cats in their homes. The most common reasons for foster care are (a) kittens who are too young to be sterilized and adopted, (b) cats who need socialization or behavior modification and (c) cats who need a break from the shelter.

Kittens, from several days old until about eight weeks, are too young to be put up for adoption.

These kittens are very small and often require more individualized care than they can receive in a shelter environment. It takes a lot of work and patience to care for kittens. But it is so much fun!

Your duties as a foster care parent include providing daily care and feeding, socializing and plenty of TLC! You will also need to provide transportation to and from the shelter for medical appointments. You could have your foster for a few weeks or several months.

Fostering can be the most rewarding and fulfilling thing a true cat lover will ever do to support cats! You will be elated when your foster cat gets adopted.
