Adopt a Cat

There is one thing we cannot provide to the wonderful cats in our shelter: YOU.

While our cats reside in spacious enclosures, have plenty of healthy food to eat and enjoy playing, napping and scratching, what they all really need and want is a loving home – a place to call their own.

That is where you come in. Plan your visit to our adoption center and our trained adoption counselors will work with you to find just the right cat for your home. Our adoption process is about helping you find your perfect pet. Bring the whole family – partners and kids. Take as much time as you need to Meet the Cats. We want you to pick the best companion for you. Check out our Holding Out for My Hero Cats as well (these cats have been here way too long), or have a sneak peek at the Cats Coming Soon.

Next step: Fill out our Adoption Interest Survey. You will be contacted within a day or so of our receiving it.

In addition to serving our community by directly taking stray animals our neighbors have found, SAFE Haven is a friendly place to adopt a cat. Our philosophy is based on an open adoption process that is conversation based, non-confrontational and welcoming. Cats can go home the same day! There are no off-putting home visits! We enjoy hosting families with children! The hardest part for you, will be picking your new friend from among the 17 cats we have ready to go home today! Check out our Adoption Fees and Things to Consider before Adopting.

All of our cats have received a pre-adoption veterinary exam, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and a microchip. They have also been tested for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. Because they are sterilized prior to adoption our kittens are usually between 11-12 weeks before they are ready for adoption.
